Easy-to-Follow Guide to Registering for the BCS Examination Successfully

The Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination is one of the most competitive exams in Bangladesh, providing civil service jobs under the government. Every year, a large number of aspirants vie for limited spots. To proceed with your journey, you must go through the application process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you apply effortlessly.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To start your application process, visit the Bangladesh Public Service Commission website: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the primary portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Stay alert from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Find the latest BCS exam circular under the “Circulars”. The circular shares necessary information, such as requirements for application, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other notable instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Examine the eligibility criteria, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The standard age limit is 21 to 30 years for general candidates, but age extensions may be considered for specific groups such as relatives of freedom fighters or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the application portal (Form 1). Provide all essential fields, such as applicant information, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Cross-check for any discrepancies. Providing invalid information can lead to application invalidation.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a fresh copyright-sized photograph (300px x 300px, file size below 100kB) and your signature (with dimensions 300x80, file size below 60kB). Make sure these are as per the guidelines mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After finishing the online form, you will be sent a User ID. Use this ID to process the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually BDT 700 for general candidates and BDT 100 for others. Follow the specified method provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will obtain a confirmation SMS with a unique transaction code. Keep this ID for future reference. Return to the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

File your application well before the deadline to steer clear of last-minute glitches.

Print a copy of the submitted form for future use, such as for printing the admit card.

By adhering to these instructions, you can complete your application for the BCS exam and take a step closer your desired position in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Best wishes!
