The Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination is one of the highly sought-after exams in Bangladesh, providing civil service jobs under the government. Year after year, countless of aspirants vie for limited spots. To initiate your journey, you must execute the application process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you apply successfully.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To begin your BCS application, visit the Bangladesh Public Service Commission website: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the sole portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Keep away from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Search for the latest BCS exam circular under the “Notices”. The circular shares all essential information, such as candidate prerequisites, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other key instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Go through the standards, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The commonly required age limit is between 21 and 30 years for general candidates, but adjustments can be granted for specific groups such as children of freedom fighters or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the application portal (Form 1). Provide all necessary fields, such as basic information, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Verify for any typos. Providing incorrect information can lead to cancellation.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a fresh copyright-sized photograph (with dimensions 300x300, file size below 100 kilobytes max) and your signature (300 pixels by 80 pixels, file size below 60kB). Ensure these comply with the requirements mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After uploading your application, you will be provided with a User ID. Use this ID to submit the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually BDT seven hundred for general candidates and BDT 100 for others. Follow the SMS format provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will receive a confirmation SMS with a Transaction ID. Keep this ID for future reference. Log back into the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

Submit your application well before the deadline to steer clear of last-minute glitches.

Print a copy of the submitted form for future use, such as for printing the admit card.

By complying with these processes, you can finalize your application for the BCS exam and get one step nearer your dream career in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Wishing you success!
